About

Jacob is the owner and managing member of J. Cohen CPAs & Advisors.  He is a licensed CPA with nearly 15 years of experience.

Jacob holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from the University of Maryland.  After working at several regional CPA firms in the Philadelphia area, Jacob started his practice in 2015 and has overseen and managed the rapid growth trajectory of the firm. Jacob is an experienced and astute tax advisor and business consultant. Jacob enjoys working with start-up companies and small businesses. His practice also focuses on real estate developers and investors as he worked for over 2 years as the Controller of Alterra Property Group, a prominent Real Estate Development firm located in Center City Philadelphia. 

Jacob served as the Board Chair for 5 years and is currently serving as the Treasurer of the Board of Directors of the Philadelphia Jewish Film & Media (formerly the Gershman Y). He is the chair of the Audit Committee of Jewish Family And Children’s Services of Greater Philadelphia. Jacob resides in Philadelphia with his wife Sarah and their children Elan and Aliza.

Ralph Citino has joined the accounting firm, J. Cohen CPAs & Advisors, as a Shareholder. Mr. Citino has more than 30 years in the accounting profession, specializing in tax preparation and planning for closely held businesses, professional service providers, real estate entities, not-for-profit organizations, and high net worth individuals. He has extensive experience with advising taxpayers on advantageous tax strategies for the sale and formation of their businesses.

Ralph currently serves as a Trustee of the University of the Arts and Chairman of the Board of InLiquid, both headquartered in Philadelphia.

Elliot has over 35 years of experience as a certified public accountant based in Philadelphia. His career started with a large international firm, but he continued to gravitate to smaller work settings where he could create closer working relationships with his clients. In 2002, he founded Braunstein & Company, LLC in Center City Philadelphia to serve the greater Philadelphia area. His focus is working with small closely held and entrepreneurial businesses and their owners, many in the healthcare, real estate and professional service industries. He provides overall supportive financial consulting, always with a focus in tax planning and preparation. Elliot services his business, not-for-profit and individual clients with a close personal relationship.

Elliot is a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. After obtaining several years of work experience, he continued his education and obtained a Masters in Taxation degree from Villanova University. Elliot is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He has served as the Budget Chair of the Finance Committee for several years, and then as Treasurer of his synagogue. Elliot also enjoyed being a guest lecturer at the Penn Law Clinic for several years. After spending much of his life in Southern New Jersey, Elliot now resides with his wife Lori in the Philadelphia Art Museum area. When he’s not working, he has a passion for traveling and enjoying the outdoors, and cherishes spending time with his family and dog.

Courtney joined J. Cohen CPAs & Advisors in 2024.  She is a licensed CPA with over 11 years of experience in public accounting.  She provides tax planning and consulting to her clients and has worked with real estate entities, small businesses, and individuals over her career.  Courtney is dedicated to keeping up with changes in tax law to provide excellent service to her clients.

Courtney graduated from Missouri State University with a Bachelor of Science in Finance and an MBA.  She resides in Missouri and enjoys spending time with family, friends, and her cats.

Steve is a licensed CPA with over 15 years of experience. He has worked at several regional accounting firms in the Philadelphia area.

He focuses on tax planning and preparation for small and closely held businesses. He provides comprehensive tax strategies tailored to the unique needs of his clients. Steve is committed to staying current on changing tax laws to ensure that his clients are taking advantage of all available tax deductions and credits. He has significant experience working with real estate and professional service companies. 

Steve earned his accounting degree from St. Joe’s University. Steve resides in Media with his wife and two daughters. He enjoys watching football, playing poker, and trying new restaurants.

Adam Romanoski graduated with a B.A. in history from SUNY Binghamton in 2007. Adam has over five years of tax return preparation and business consulting experience. Much of Adam’s experience has been with start-up companies and real estate developers and investors.

Adam lives in Pittsburgh with his wife and two sons. Outside of work, he enjoys long bike rides, making his own beer and being active in the Jewish community.

Linda joined J. Cohen CPAs & Advisors in 2022 with over seven years of experience. Her last four years were spent specializing in tax preparation and planning for small closely held businesses and their owners, in industries including, healthcare, real estate, and professional services.

After graduating from Kean University with a Bachelor of Science in finance, she then went on to earn her Master’s Degree in accountancy from Seton Hall University. Linda has received her license as a Certified Public Accountant and is a member of The Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Linda resides in Southern New Jersey with her husband and enjoys spending time outdoors.

Morgan joined the firm in 2021 as a Staff Accountant. She received her bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance from Drexel University in 2021. She also studied real estate as a minor because of her interest in the industry. Morgan has completed 4 internships, totaling almost 2 years, in Accounting and Tax experience prior to coming to the firm.

During her free time, she enjoys cooking and spending time with her family and cats. Morgan is a huge Philadelphia sports fan and loves watching the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles games.

Sarah has over fifteen years of accounting and tax preparation experience. She has worked for a variety of small businesses, including those involved with investment advisory, real estate development and property management. In addition to accounting and financial reporting, Sarah has significant experience with Federal, State, and Local tax return preparation for individuals and small businesses.

Sarah received her Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from the New Jersey Institute of Technology and a Post Baccalaureate Certificate in Accounting from Ursinus College.

Kathryn recently joined the firm as a staff accountant. Kathryn graduated from Furman University in 2021 with a B. A. in Accounting. She has experience with Federal, State, and Local tax return preparation for individuals and a variety of businesses. She is actively pursuing her CPA license.

On the weekends, Kathryn enjoys going to the local farmer’s market, spending time with friends, and exploring new coffee shops.

Dylan recently joined the team as a Staff Accountant. He graduated from the University of Delaware in 2022 with a B.S. in Accounting. Previously, Dylan was a tax intern at a CPA firm in New Jersey and a volunteer at an income tax assistance program in Delaware. He is currently pursuing his CPA license. Outside the office, Dylan can be found spending time with friends and family, going on hikes, snowboarding in the winter, or at the beach in the summer.

Jitender joined the firm in 2021 as a Staff Accountant. He holds a Bachelor’s of Commerce degree from University of Delhi, India and a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Chartered Accountancy from The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). He has over 10 years of work experience in accounting, tax preparation and auditing from India. His duties at the firm mainly consist of bookkeeping and financial reporting. He is also learning US tax preparation. Jitender is also planning to sit for the CPA exam.

Born and raised in India, Jitender is now living in Michigan with his wife and daughter. Apart from work, he enjoys drawing pencil sketches, travelling with friends and family, watching movies and spending time at the gym.

Raised in the greater Philadelphia area, Natalie pursued her passion for music at Chestnut Hill College, where she specialized in music therapy. A versatile musician, she is proficient in playing the piano, saxophone, guitar, and ukulele, and is also fluent in French and is quickly learning Arabic. Natalie has brought fresh energy and enthusiasm to our expanding accounting team since her arrival. Despite being new to accounting, her quick learning ability and amiable nature make her a valued team member.

Outside of work, Natalie dedicates her time to composing music, cherishing moments with her loved ones, and caring for her beloved pets. She currently resides in Philadelphia with her cats and bearded dragon.

Jessica has been working in Accounting, Finance, and most recently, Business Operations for over 25 years. During her internships at Northeastern in Boston, she started her career as a tax intern at Coopers & Lybrand. After graduating and spending a few years in private industry, she returned to public accounting in 2004, joining Grant Thornton as an Assurance Associate. After achieving CPA certification and working as a Financial Analyst for a few years, Jessica returned to professional services, working in legal Finance and Business Operations.

Outside of the office, Jessica enjoys spending time with her husband and cats, dinners with friends, and attempting to garden.

Lorelei has been working in an administrative role for over 25 years and promoted to Manager, Office & Culture. She started her career working for an Architectural/Engineering firm before working in the tax department for two large accounting firms in Philadelphia. Lorelei currently resides in Southern New Jersey with her husband and two daughters.

In her free time, Lorelei enjoys hanging out with her family, her monthly dinner dates with friends, traveling, volunteering, and playing a lot of pickleball!

Nicole is a Philadelphia native with over two decades of experience as an Executive Administrative Assistant. Since her start at the Firm in January 2023, she has been an asset, using her critical thinking and motivation to provide a fresh perspective while still offering to help everyone with whatever they need. Outside the office, she dedicates her time to giving back to the community by volunteering for the American Red Cross and supporting multiple animal shelters throughout the Greater Philadelphia area. Nicole’s adventurous spirit has taken her to more than 70 countries, where she pursues off-the-beaten-path destinations for unique experiences and meaningful encounters with locals. Narberth is home to Nicole, her son and their dogs.

Kim is a Philadelphia native who has been working with CPAs for over 25 years. Kim assists with some tax preparation, bookkeeping, client tax notices and all client communications. She takes pride in getting to know our clients personally and providing very tailored service and accommodation for the many requests received from our clients.

Marlene has been working in the public accounting industry for over 25 years. Her experience has been working in the tax department for large accounting firms in Philadelphia, handling a wide range of administrative tasks, along with client interaction.

Marlene is originally from South Philadelphia and currently resides in Southern New Jersey. During her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and her rescue dog, Omar. Marlene is a huge Philadelphia sports fan, and loves watching and attending games for the Philadelphia Eagles, Phillies, 76ers and Flyers!
